Messaging & Opt-In Policy

This policy describes how BackPocket handles SMS, MMS, WhatsApp, Instagram DM, and other messaging programs, including consent, opt-out instructions, and compliance disclosures.

1. Program overview

BackPocket sends transactional and service-related messages to help you capture information, verify your account, receive reminders, and get product updates. Message frequency varies based on usage (0–12 messages/week on average). Message and data rates may apply.

2. Opt-in methods

  • Submitting a phone number during sign-up or within the web vault.
  • Texting one of our published short/long codes or WhatsApp numbers.
  • Scanning a QR code or tapping an in-app button that clearly states you agree to receive messages.

We capture timestamp, channel, IP, and consent language for every opt-in event to satisfy carrier and regulatory requirements.

3. Opt-out & keyword handling

The following keywords are supported across all messaging channels:

Opt in to BackPocket messaging programs.

STOP / CANCEL / QUIT / END / UNSUBSCRIBE

Opt out of all messaging channels immediately.

HELP / INFO

Receive support contact details and self-serve resources.

Opt-out requests are processed instantly. You may also email privacy@backpocket.cloud or use in-app settings to manage preferences. After opting out, you will only receive critical transactional messages required to service your account.

4. Carrier & regulatory compliance

  • BackPocket partners with Tier-1 carriers and Twilio to deliver compliant traffic.
  • We adhere to TCPA, CTIA, CASL, GDPR, and other global messaging guidelines.
  • Opt-in data, consent receipts, and message logs are never sold or shared for marketing purposes.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
